Weekly blog posts are officially in progress, just as I am finishing up the official registration of my small business: VFJ Indexing & Word Services. This is an interesting process that I have been working on over the course of September. Finally in the last stages of registering, I am excited to be almost done with all the hoop-jumping.

My official first week of being 100% self-employed was especially good…I spent it at the seashore collecting seashells, surfing, lounging, and reading about Ernest Hemingway’s “secret adventures” in a book called Writer, Sailor, Soldier, Spy: Ernest Hemingway’s Secret Adventures, 1935-1961, written by Nicholas Reynolds and published in 2017 by HarperCollins.

Here are the two books I relied on while getting my freelance business officially registered and established:

• How to Start a Business in Florida, 2nd ed.
  published by Entrepreneur Press (2007)
